Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad hosts KITE 2017

Telangana Tourism and Incredible India in association with Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad are hosting KITE 2017 in celebration of Sankranthi and Telangana's rich regional heritage of kites, crafts and culture. KITE 2017 will profile remote controlled kites for the first time in India, at a special night kite flying curtain raiser event at People’s Plaza on Thursday 12 January, open to the public.
 
14 and 15 January will see 17 international kite flying teams and 10 pan-Indian clubs fly at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad. Telangana culture will be celebrated through a full cultural program, a regional food fair, local arts and crafts stalls and performance art.
 
KITE 2017 is a festival with a difference that aims to promote women’s empowerment through girl child education. Global badminton champion and Telangana State icon PV Sindhu is the official festival face, representing the talent, determination and skills that rests within girl children all over the country.
