New Residential Students Welcomed

31 August 2011

The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa residential community welcomed 38 new students to campus on Friday, August 19, 2011. The students and their families were greeted by the Orientation Crew comprised of Dorm Captains and other experienced students.

After settling into their rooms and cutting the ceremonial ribbon, students spent some valuable time bonding with each other while playing ice-breaking games in the Multipurpose Hall.

On Saturday, the students wished their parents a safe journey home after lunch and continued with their orientation programme. After an exhilarating treasure hunt that helped students to navigate their way around the school, the students settled in for an exciting football tournament on the astro turf field. The Dorm Parents were feeling equally energetic and entered their own team making it all the way to the finals before losing in penalty kicks to a fired-up student squad.

Sunday was another busy day that concluded with a peaceful walk to Mama Ngina Drive along the ocean front where students enjoyed coconut juice and cassava chips.

Welcome to our new students and families!
