Two AKA,Mombasa Diploma students offered places at Cornell

Two DP2 students learned today of their offer by Cornell University, one of the eight American universities that belong to the Ivy League. Brian Nyangena and Daniel Orwa thanked their teachers for an excellent academic experience and also thanked the staff of the Academy for their guidance and support during the application process. Both mentioned that their CAS and TOK classes as positive influences.

Brian Nyangena: "I am so glad and thankful to God that I got accepted at Cornell. I plan to take this opportunity to develop myself so that I will be in a position to return to Kenya and help students just like me, who have financial difficulties, further themselves in their studies and help Kenya to become a developed country."

Daniel Orwa: "I am honored to receive acceptance to Cornell University. After university I intend to reciprocate the good the Aga Khan is doing by supporting the education of financially disadvantaged youths of Kenya and using the education gained to help improve our economy."
