The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Department of Humanities organised its annual Peace Summit on 24-25 March 2022. The two-day event comprised workshops by groups of DP1 students of AKA Mombasa for MYP4 students across the Academies. And for the first time this year, four DP1 students from AKA Hyderabad had the opportunity to conduct one session alongside their counterparts in Mombasa.
After two years of uncertainty and online and hybrid learning due to the pandemic, the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad held its first in-person graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022 on Saturday, 21 May 2022.
Over the course of the summer holiday, Ruth Shastry from the Class of 2024 is focusing on her love for art. She is hoping that it will allow her to focus on her want for a career in scientific and medical illustration.

Individual acts of exceptional personal example or work can be entered into the Academy’s Book of Excellence. Students are nominated by staff, who feel that the student’s work or contribution is so impressive that it deserves a very special recognition. The Book of Excellence provides a written record of all outstanding pieces of work or significant contributions to the community achieved during a student’s time here.
Saraswathi Gandapaka joined the Academy in August 2017, in Grade 7. She came from a government school in Begumpet, close to where her family lived.When she arrived at the Academy it was a complete change in her life.
This field trip helped us all to explore the real culture of India, Hyderabad as we have seen historical places or developed places here but not something cultural and religious which we did during this trip.
