The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad, is now accepting applications for admission to its Junior School, Senior School and Diploma Programmes from August 2012. It is the second in an international network of Academies being established throughout South and Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Built on a 100-acre campus near Rajiv Gandhi Airport, the Academy offers state-of-the art facilities on a secure landscaped site.
All the classes at the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad recently completed their first Units of Inquiry for this school year. To celebrate the end of the Units, special assemblies were held each day over a week for the children to share their experiences and knowledge.
Class 1 shared what they had learned in their study of Communities, presenting in both English and Hindi. They had begun their inquiry with the people who are part of the school community and then broadened out to look at the wider community.
Promoting excellence in teaching, both on campus and more broadly, is a fundamental goal of the Aga Khan Academies. Each Academy has a Professional Development Centre, which strengthens the profession of teaching in the region by investing substantially in teachers’ professional development.
Residential life at the Academy complements and extends the academic experience. Our residential programme includes a broad selection of activities and leadership opportunities to enhance students’ learning and growth.
As the network of Aga Khan Academies becomes further established, we will offer our students the opportunity to broaden their experience through exchanges with other Academies.
Physical education, and competitive games and sports prepare our students for real-life situations, encouraging them to take leadership roles and allowing them to tackle challenges confidently and in a spirit of cooperation.
The Aga Khan Curricular Strands(AK Strands) are a unique part of the programme offered by the Aga Khan Academies. The AK Strands are areas of learning aimed specifically at developing knowledge, skills and attitudes required by future leaders.
