Aga Khan Academy Dhaka introduces new Student Council cohort

29 October 2024

This month, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka proudly welcomed its new Student Council for the 2024-2025 academic year which will serve as the voice of students. The formation of this council marks a major step in fostering student leadership and participation within the Academy’s vibrant learning community.

The council aims to empower students to take an active role in shaping their educational experience. During the first month of being elected, the Student Council organised an assembly with aerobics and impromptu speeches where students discussed topics ranging from music and art to artificial intelligence and global conflicts. Through these activities, participants enhanced their public speaking skills and knowledge of world affairs. The council is also set to lead initiatives to encourage the students’ involvement beyond academics.

“Through initiatives led by the Student Council, students will not only develop leadership skills but also enhance their critical life skills such as communication, collaboration and problem-solving,” said Senior School Principal Ms Fahmida Chowdhury. “Their voices will play a vital role in shaping the Academy's future and fostering a culture of leadership.”

Meet the Academy’s Student Council cohort, which includes class representatives, creativity, activity, service (CAS) advisors, vice presidents and presidents, and their aspirations for this academic year:
