In June, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka’s Senior School organised the “TED-esque” event at the Senior School library to showcase the public speaking talents of its students and staff. The event was modelled on the globally recognised “TEDx” and offered a platform for the speakers to share ideas and spark inspiration.
The event featured 10 speakers, including seven students and three teachers. Each of them delivered talks on areas they were passionate about. Topics ranged from self-love and happiness to international-mindedness and artificial intelligence. The selection reflected the broad spectrum of interests within the Academy community.
One of the standout moments of the event was the drama performance by Mr Vishwajit Shinde, lead performing arts teacher, who entertained the audience with a folk tale. Mr Vishwajit’s unique costume and makeup, imbued with rhythm and suspense, created a captivating experience.
Lead Individuals and Societies Teacher Ms Jina Saha, who was one of the key organisers of the event, reflected on the objective of the event and expressed her joy to witness the wave of enthusiasm.
"We aimed to provide an opportunity for the young leaders of tomorrow to refine and display their communication and collaboration skills," Ms Jina said. "I am truly impressed by the maturity and passion of our students and staff. They have set a high bar for future events."
