Alumni from The Aga Khan School, Dhaka visit the Academy
On 14 October, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka welcomed a group of 17 alumni from The Aga Khan School (AKS), Dhaka for an Open House session. The group comprised of professionals in business, advertising, development, research, education and banking.
The session started with an introduction by Head of the Academy Ms Suvina Shunglu and Dean of Admissions Mr Davis Paul. While addressing the alumni, they shared how the Academy is trying to give back to the community by creating future leaders who will positively contribute to their community and country.
“We want a stronger alumni community who will support us to keep up the school's legacy,” Ms Shunglu said. “We envision our students to be internationally minded while acting locally. We inspire them to fulfil their commitment to the country as they build on what you have started.”
After the introductory session, the alumni toured the award-winning campus and state-of-the-art classrooms. Following this, they participated in an exciting football match in the Maidan, the Academy’s vast open field, while sporting Academy jerseys during the game.
Mr Farhan Nayeem, an AKS, Dhaka alumnus working in the mobile financial industry in Bangladesh, shared his feelings about the visit.
“As an AKS, Dhaka alumnus, the culture was always to take pride in our roots, stay connected and give back to the AKS, Dhaka community,” Mr Farhan said. “It is our biggest pleasure to know that the culture can be maintained and potentially improved with the Academy.”
