DP2 students receive offers from universities worldwide
As the Diploma Programme (DP) 2 students at the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka are approaching their final exams and the end of term, higher education opportunities from across the globe have already started knocking on their doors.
The Academy’s university counselling office has been working to ensure students have a smooth transition to the next step in their education journey, guiding them from the beginning of the application process to the offer of acceptance. As a result, the students feel more confident about their exciting educational journeys ahead.
DP2 student and Head Boy of the Academy Sakif Hassan is among the students who received multiple offers from different universities such as King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, the University of Michigan and more. Since the start of his final year in the DP, he has been visiting the university counselling office regularly to get support on how to secure the best offers for his undergraduate studies.
“The Academy’s university counselling office was one of the most important sources of support during my admission process,” Sakif said. “Starting from the letter of recommendations to ensuring all the relevant university documents were submitted, I received an overwhelming amount of support from the Academy.”
So far, the Class of 2024 have received admissions offers and funding opportunities from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and many other countries. Additionally, they secured approximately $325,000 in scholarships to begin their next steps.
“It is amazing that our students are shining all over the world from the beginning of our academic operations,” said Nusrat Sharmin, the Academy’s university counsellor. “They are well organised and focused during the whole process of securing offers from well-reputed universities. I am confident that more exciting opportunities will come in the next few weeks.”
The top universities the students have received admission offers and scholarships from include the University of Toronto, Michigan State University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Warwick, King's College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science and many more.
“I am very grateful for the support I received from the counsellor’s office,” said DP2 student Aleesa Azim, who secured an offer from the University of Toronto in Canada. “As I learnt from my counsellor at the Academy, students should start researching about higher studies opportunities as early as possible.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 for all their achievements!
