Grade 7 students meet artist Anisuzzaman Anis
Mr Anis shared a presentation on printmaking and its different aspects. As part of the session, he showed the students a live demonstration of woodcut printing, which the students thoroughly enjoyed.
“I really enjoyed watching the demonstration and learned so much about printmaking,” said Grade 7 student Shashwoto Biswas. “This is the first time I have experienced something like this!”
Visual arts teachers Ms Fahmida Khatun and Ms Lamia Khan emphasised the importance of introducing diverse mediums of visual arts to the students.
“It was an excellent session that covered many different aspects of art,” Ms Fahmida said. “Students got to experience a live printmaking session from one of the finest artists of our country and learned about new types of tools used in visual arts.”
Before departing, Mr Anis gifted some of his artworks to the Academy and expressed his appreciation for the active participation of the Grade 7 students.
“I had a wonderful time at the Academy with the students,” Mr Anis said. “They showed remarkable enthusiasm for art and the printmaking process. It shows that they are nurtured in a culturally enriched and creative environment.”
