Meet the Academy’s new TPP fellows

Recently, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka welcomed a fresh batch of Teacher Preparation Programme (TPP) fellows, who have embarked on an exciting 18-month journey to elevate their careers in education. They have already set off for the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad in India for 12 months of intense and hands-on training. The TPP fellows will then return to the Academy in Dhaka for another six months to implement their learnings in the classrooms and receive their International Baccalaureate (IB) certifications upon successful completion of the programme.       

Below, we learn more about fellows and their aspirations in the TPP: 

Nova Chakraborty completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in dramatics from the University of Chittagong. She pursued a second Master of Arts in drama from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India. Before joining the TPP, she played diverse roles in the media and art industry in Bangladesh as a dance instructor, voiceover artist and actress. She was also in the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps and visited Sri Lanka as a cadet ambassador to be recognised for her strategic leadership in the performing arts and media field. Nova is passionate about encouraging students to strengthen their creativity and craftmanship skills and looks forward to becoming an IB-certified educator.

Sultan Kaykobad Chowdhury graduated from the University of Dhaka with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. During his final year before graduation, he pursued an apprenticeship at a reputed communications agency in Bangladesh to gain valuable experience in art and brand design. Sultan wants to become an educator to kindle artistry in young minds and help them contribute to the cultural tapestry of Bangladesh and the world.
 
Md. Fakhrul Alam Sagor received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from SUST. Before becoming a TPP fellow, he worked as an intern at Intertek Bangladesh, a well-known international organisation focusing on quality assurance, to explore organisational management and effluent treatment plants as an apprentice. Besides his pursuit in natural sciences, Sagor was connected with many social and cultural programmes as a student and played crucial roles as a cultural enthusiast. He is excited about his role as a TPP fellow and becoming a passionate IB-certified teacher to serve his community.
 
Md. Rashedul Haque Rana completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in physics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). He worked as an undergraduate researcher at SUST’s Nonlinear Bio-Optics Research Laboratory, where he investigated the nonlinear optical properties of optically active materials such as flower extract and food dye. He is passionate about understanding the fundamental principles of the universe and becoming an educator. Rashedul wants to build a career in teaching and research to foster the development of young individuals.
