Meet Shamsun Nahar, Grade 1 homeroom teacher

Shamsun Nahar was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is one of the Grade 1 homeroom teachers at the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka. Shamsun started her teaching career at The Aga Khan School, Dhaka, where she spent six years before joining the Academy. Shamsun secured her Bachelor of Social Studies and Master of Social Studies at the University of Dhaka.  

Shamsun aspires to achieve the mission and vision of the Aga Khan Academies by creating a student-oriented, fun, and engaging learning environment. 

“I will facilitate an interactive learning environment by catering to students’ needs,” Shamsun said. “I want my students to learn by engaging in fun activities.” 

Shamsun loves the natural view and the open spaces at the Academy. 

“We get to interact with nature daily at the Academy,” Shamsun said. “The open spaces allow children to learn beyond the classroom.”
