MYP students create weather forecast instruments
Recently, the Grade 7 students at the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka embarked on an insightful journey of creating 3D models of weather forecast instruments.
Researching rigorously, the students conceptualised what they learnt in classes by exploring various weather parameters. They collaborated in groups and actively participated in discussions while doing the project. In addition to researching and producing 3D models, the students also presented how weather forecast instruments function.
“Creating 3D models of weather forecast instruments was an eye-opening experience for me,” said Sababa Alam, a Grade 7 student. “Not only did we dive deep into learning how temperature affects weather patterns but we also got hands-on experience with the weather instruments.”
Moreover, the students received a thorough and critical overview of weather patterns and their effect on the environment.
“The students demonstrated a deep understanding of the concepts,” said Momena Farzana Hossain, the Academy’s individuals and societies teacher. “They have showcased creativity and problem-solving skills in bringing ideas to life. These projects have not only enhanced their knowledge of weather forecasts but have also fostered a sense of collaboration and teamwork among them.”
