News from the Network - Five students win a business event at Hyderabad Public School
Five DP-1 Economics students from the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad bagged the first prize in the Economics and Business Competition held at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet on Saturday, 30th November 2019.
Two teams of DP-1 Economics HL students from the Academy took part in the event and one of the teams - Team K, made us proud by winning a trophy for coming first! The members of the winning team are Rehan Meghani, Aftikhar Mominzada, Buzurgmehr, Aman Gangani and Bhavika Gupta.
The competition was jointly hosted by the Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF) along with the University of London and The London School of Economics (LSE). A total of 17 teams from more than 10 schools across the city participated in the event.
The event was divided into three parts- Business Analytics, Bulls and Bears (Stock Market Simulation) and quiz. Team K not only won all the events but also lead the leaderboards throughout the competition! "As economics students and future entrepreneurs, we learnt a lot and developed new skill sets. This competition allowed us to explore real-world economics," remarked Rehan Meghani, while Aftikhar Mominzada said, "The competition was tough as all the participants were brilliant. We thank the Academy and all our Economics teachers for the constant support and guidance. We look forward to participating and winning many such events in the future as well!"
