Parents of newly applied students take part in PYP open house
From 13-14 November, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka invited parents of newly applied Primary Years Programme (PYP) students to visit the campus and learn more about the Academy’s academic programme and the various enrichments that are offered.
Mr Bill O'Hearn began the session by introducing the mission and vision of the Aga Khan Academies and the similarities it shares with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. PYP Coordinator Ms Tanjina Hossain led the rest of the event by explaining the uniqueness of the PYP curriculum, showing several videos of students learning through different kinds of activities and how they applied their learnings to their everyday lives.
The session was followed by a tour of the campus for the visiting parents, led by existing Grade 4 and 5 students of the Academy who also shared their experiences at the Academy.
All the parents were ecstatic and appreciative of the Academy’s state-of-the-art facilities, welcoming staff and remarkable students.
“I am deeply impressed by the Academy,” said Mr Sharfaraz Mehdi Anwar, a parent of a newly applied student. “I love the fantastic and caring environment created by the teachers for the students of the Academy.”
