Music for a cause

I became aware that many people did not have access to the correct information on what to do to be safe, and I feel that it is very important that in these times people should work together, and we, as a whole community, should fight this coronavirus pandemic. As part of my Service Learning, I wanted to do work towards appreciating the COVID warriors.

I have been producing trap music, which is primarily a branch of hip-hop music, since the start of the year. I make the beats for rappers to rap on, the melody, or simply, the rhythm of the song. It took me around three months to get comfortable with the music software and I started making beats every day while learning techniques.

After learning the amount of skill that goes into producing, I tried to look at the business point of view in making beats and I made it a goal that I wanted to earn my own money. I started taking producing seriously and worked very hard towards learning how to make a good beat. I was listening to 2-3 hour podcasts of producers talking about how they became big and it inspired me so much. Fast forward to three months later and I sold my first beat, and even at a time where I think my beats can be so much better and there is so much more to learn. I also sold my second beat a few days ago. 

I started all of this during the pandemic. This creative outlet and learning gave me a lot of positivity and I thought of helping people by putting the money earned from the beats for procuring the COVID-19 kits. I have had the idea of giving out these kits for a long time, and now that I am earning, I have been able to do so. I will keep on working towards educating people where is it required and helping the needy.
