The Aga Khan Academies holiday programme
At the beginning of July, the Aga Khan Academies launched a holiday programme designed to give students productive ideas for activities they could undertake at home over the summer. The programme, which was created by staff and students of the Academies’ network, includes activities that are not linked to the academic programme but are designed to build relevant skills such as critical and creative thinking.
Some of the activities were organised into categories for particular year groups, but the greatest number of activities were open to all students. The wide range of activities to choose from included: science experiments that you could eat, arts and crafts, creative writing, magic, cooking, mindfulness, book clubs, drawing with Disney Animation Academy and an opportunity for our oldest students to take Harvard University’s most popular undergraduate course.
The ‘Sanctuary’ project, presented in collaboration with Aga Khan Museum, is a great family activity which culminates in a multi-generational project, so it’s a good way for the whole family to get involved and to share their stories. Some of the final projects will be displayed by both the Academies and the Museum.
The programme is now in its last week and the site will stay active until school resumes. If you haven’t already registered but would like to take part in the activities you can do so here.
