AKA, Mombasa Rake in the Results at KSF Junior Championships
On 15–17 May 2015, 13 students from AKA, Mombasa’s Junior School represented the Academy at the Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) Junior Championships. They performed remarkably well, with the boys coming in third overall, and the combined team garnering the sixth overall position out of 27 teams.
The students also performed brilliantly as individuals. Ivan Hart was the overall winner in his age group, winning four gold medals, one silver medal, and setting a new record for the 25m butterfly. Sathyam Gohil, Atika Mulla and Toviel Kioko also joined Ivan in the 8-year boys relay team, and together they set a new record for the 4-by-25m freestyle relay.
In addition, Ryan Maina won one gold and bronze medal each, and was fourth in his age category, Sathyam Gohil won one silver and one bronze medal and came in third in his age category, Hilda Wambui won two bronze medals and took the fifth position in her age group, and Alexandra Hart also picked up a bronze medal, coming in seventh in her age group.
