Celebrating our Diversity
Our annual Residential Cultural Night, a delight for the eyes and ears, was held on Saturday evening. Cultural night is an opportunity, eagerly embraced by students, both to dress in their best and also to perform songs, dances and poems, from their own culture. This is a wonderful occasion which celebrates the diversity of the school student and teacher population and is also a great night’s entertainment.
Each of the six residential blocks took it in turn to present their pieces which they had been rehearsing over the preceding weeks – some overseen by Dorm parents, others under the guidance of the Dorm captains who organised the entire evening. In some cases those from one culture joined with those from another so that they could more fully experience a different culture, while some presented a mix of flavours to give a truly original offering. It was a very successful and enjoyable evening which was capped off by a dance.
