The graduation ceremony was held on Saturday, 14 June 2008 at 5:00pm at The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa in the presence of the families of the graduating class, members of the school faculty and senior administrative staff, Academies Unit members, representatives from AKDN and AKES institutions, local Jamati and leadership, Heads of feeder schools in Mombasa and representatives from Lawrenceville School and Berkeley University (USA).
The keynote speaker for this auspicious event was Dr. Tom Kessinger, General Manager of the Aga Khan Foundation (Geneva). A reading then followed by a representative of the graduating class. The class had chosen an excerpt from His Highness the Aga Khan’s recent Petersen Lecture. A musical interlude was proposed by students of the Aga Khan Academy.
After the closing remarks by Head of Senior School, Mr. Simon Otieno, refreshments were served in the library.
