Junior School Sports Day
On Wednesday March 3rd, the annual Junior School Sports Day was held at the Academy. Many parents attended to watch a variety of events: relay races, 100 metre dashes, obstacle course challenges, and the much contested tug of war competitions. Master of Ceremony, Mr Lowe, kept everyone entertained throughout and while it was a very hot day, all the events were fiercely competitive.
The morning even ended with a male and female student relay team taking on a team of mothers and female teachers and a team of fathers and male teachers. The team of mothers beat the teachers' team for the first time in four years but the male teachers were too strong for the fathers who came in third after the boys' team put in a strong performance.
The final results were announced by organiser Anthony Ndungu with Green house being victorious overall. Yellow house placed second with blue house third. The Senior School Sports day is scheduled for March 31st and they have much to compete with given the quality of effort and sportsmanship displayed today.
