The Lions Club Pay a Special Visit to the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa
On 16th April 2015, the Academy hosted several members from the Lions Club in Mombasa in order to create potential opportunities for collaboration between the school and the organization.
The Lions Club members were introduced to the campus as well as the different programs and initiatives the Academy is involved with. They also shared their own objectives and ideas for mutual enrichment from projects done in partnership with the Academy.
The members of the club expressed their appreciation for the various activities and facilities provided for the students, especially those involved in our talent identification program. “I could not stop talking of the facilities you offer to the children who excel but would have been unable to reach their education goals. It is not only education you are providing, you have raised them to level where they would never have attained in their lives,” says Tahera Biondi, one of the visiting members.
The Academy team is also eager to take this collaboration forward. “We are very excited by the opportunities we see for our students and faculty to benefit from the work being done by the Lions Club, and we hope our joint efforts will show in the value we can add to our communities,” says Mr. Simon Otieno, Acting Head of the Academy.
Welcome, Lions Club! We look forward to your successful alliance with our school community.
