PYP Coffee Mornings Begin

We, at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa, believe that the education of our children is a partnership between the home and the school and as such we hold regular meetings and workshops for our parent community. The Junior School runs monthly PYP Coffee Mornings where the principles and practices of the academic programme are discussed.

The first session, "An Introduction to the PYP at AKA", Mombasa was held on Tuesday, September 22 in the Junior School Library. During this meeting, we were able to explore what we believe about education and learning, examining the IB mission and the Academy’s educational philosophy. Parents were introduced to the essential elements of the PYP, the school’s learner profile, and the AK strands.

The next Coffee Morning topic is "Assessment in the PYP" and will be held on Monday, October 5 from 10:30 – 11:30. Thank you to all parents who attended this session.
