Year 1 and 2 students participating in activity at their camp.On 31 January, 2020 the Junior School at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa organised its first camp for the Year 1 and 2. 

The camp began in the evening at the Academy and included various activities for the students, including a water slide. Although the evening was filled with fun and games, the objective of the camp was to teach the students about responsibility.   

Year 1 and 2 students playing games.“The students were excited to spend a few more hours after school for the long awaited camp,” said Year 1 teacher Lillian Mwendwa. “The purpose of this camp was to have the students engaged in taking care of their personal belongings and the task before the camp was to have the students pack their own bags the previous evening.”

Numerous students said they enjoyed the camp and cannot wait to participate in another adventure like this soon.
