The Aga Khan Academy , Mombasa, has rolled out a training programme for public primary school teachers at the Kenya coast.
The training programme is delivering a near immediate jump in the mean scores of the teachers’ pupils – by up to 50 percent or more in Math and English.

After seeing first-hand the difficult living conditions in an informal housing settlement in Hyderabad, Insha decided to focus her grade 10 personal project on rethinking settlement design to improve the residents’ quality of life. Through their personal projects, Insha and many of her peers at the Academies are tackling challenging social issues head-on.

Outstanding Results for 2015 Academies Graduates

This year’s Academies graduates achieved record results on their IB Diploma exams. AKA, Mombasa saw its highest-ever average score, with one student achieving a very rare perfect mark! AKA, Hyderabad’s average also exceeded last year’s, and the two graduating classes were offered a combined sum of over $7.7 million in university scholarships.
