The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa welcomed 15 new staff members from around the world to its community for the 2019 – 2020 academic year. Throughout the next few weeks, profiles of the new staff will be shown, introducing who they are and how they want to bring change to the Academy.
As part of their mentorship curriculum, year 8 students at AKA Mombasa engage in video conferences with students from around the world to strengthen their communication skills with people from various backgrounds and mindsets.
Fiona Makena Kinyua graduated from the Teacher Preparation Programme at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa in June 2019 and is taking classrooms by storm, one student at a time.
Supporters and Friends of the Aga Khan Academy hosted a charity golf tournament at the Nyali Golf & Country Club Mombasa, with all proceeds donated towards the Academy’s Talent Identification Programme.
Rising golf star Alyssa Jamal, an year 9 student at AKA Mombasa is featured in The Standard for securing a silver medal at the Ladies Medal Golf Tournament held on 16 November 2019.
Azmat Amarshi, year 9, and Karam Amarshi, year 8, performed at the Children's Day function where they were recognised by the Assistant High Commissioner of India for Kenya for their performance.
