Academy Hosts IB Regional Network Meeting
The Hyderabad network of International Baccalaureat (IB) schools are hosting IB representatives from the IB Asia Pacific office in Singapore from 12th to 14th February 2014. The agenda of the visit was collaboratively decided by the network member schools and included several information sharing sessions.
Directors, Heads and Coordinators from Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme schools in Hyderabad attended the pre and post lunch sessions to discuss the new curriculum models, the authorization and evaluation processes, new documents on the OCC, online collaboration through social media for IB educators, and programme specific areas of interest.
These sessions were interactive and informative and the IB officials were able to clarify misconceptions about the IB and its mission, as well reinforce the importance of viewing the 3 programmes as a continuum.
The afternoon session was for teachers from the network schools who would like to become IBE’s . The application and selection process was explained in detail and the expectations from applicants were clarified.
It was an excellent forum for all IB teachers to interact with each other and discuss common concerns and problems. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality of the AKAH.
