During the lockdown I worked with my neighbour everyday for a month and a half. I then searched for communities in Hyderabad who were not able to earn money during the pandemic and found a shelter that was providing for people with disabilities. I visited the shelter and got to know the needs of both the residents and the staff over the course of the lockdown. Using the money I earned, I fed 450 people at the shelter and provided them with medication, masks, sanitizers and dry rations. I realised we often help people who have the ability to earn and neglect those who cannot and I am glad to have been able to contribute in a meaningful manner.
