Independence Day Celebration at the Junior School
To mark India’s 68th Independence Day on 15 August 2014, the Junior School of the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad had an assembly entirely in Hindi this morning.
Students from different classes conveyed the important message of patriotism and national spirit through role plays, poetry recitals, dance and rendering of songs. The assembly ended with the national anthem with keyboard accompaniment by Mr Subhadip. All students and staff sang the anthem with such gusto and spirit that they gave the audience goose bumps. We are very grateful to the Hindi teachers, Ms Meena and Ms Sushmita, for putting the assembly together at such short notice.
In their classes, students will be inquiring into what it means to be independent in the broader sense and briefly about the independence movement of India.
