International Mother Language Day Celebrations
February 21 is declared as the International Mother Language Day and is observed every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
This day was celebrated with lot of fervour in the Junior School at the Academy in Hyderabad.
The Academy took on a festive look, and parents were invited to conduct sessions for the students in their mother language.
Students wrote famous quotes, sayings, stories and captions in their mother language, which were displayed around the Junior School.
A morning assembly was conducted by the teachers, highlighting the significance of the day as declared by UNESCO.
Students and teachers sang songs in their mother language and teachers taught greetings and commonly used words in their mother language to the students.
Later during the day, many parents visited the Junior School to share stories, poems, greetings, quotes and their personal histories with the students.
The air was filled with enthusiasm and excitement; students enjoyed the sessions and learned new words in their different mother languages, which included Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Gujurati, Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Kutchi, Tamil and Kannada.
