Numbers were flying everywhere on 11th November 2017, as we celebrated the Maths Mela at the Junior School.
The day began with an assembly on “Mathemagic,” conducted by the grade 5 students. The highly interactive session involved students, teachers, and parents. The presenters, dressed up as magicians, presented a TEDx video, asked the audience mental math questions, and shared some useful tricks to solve math problems. The audience gave it their all,
solving math puzzles with the aid of math wizards.
After the assembly, a maths parade was held in the Academy amphitheater. Each grade was assigned a theme – numbers, shapes, patterns, and measurement. Parents and teachers alike
cheered the students on as they discussed their topics.
Finally, activities focused on the five math strands were held in respective classes. Grade 5 students served as mentors, providing valuable support to the younger students.
“I felt empowered being a teacher today and I realised it comes with a lot of responsibilities,” reflected Rishwanth of grade 5.
A big thank you to everyone who made this Super Saturday possible!
