Junior School opens doors to parents
On Saturday 19th January 2019, the Academy Junior School was open to parents of our young learners as well as those of prospective students of the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, for the annual open day. Parents had the chance to see the PYP in action and to interact with Junior School faculty.
Parents saw students of grades 1-5 in their classroom environment and observed how students utilise their classroom space, outdoor spaces, and technical resources they have at hand at the AKA Hyderabad. Following the observation sessions, parents had an informal conversation with the Junior School Principal, Sreelatha Kumar, and PYP coordinator, Chloe Hill, about student life in Junior School and the PYP curriculum.
Our facilitators fielded questions from parents, following which prospective parents were given guided tours of the AKA Hyderabad’s 100-acre campus. Academy facilitators, students and parents stayed back on campus grounds after lunch to take part in the centuries old harvest festival tradition of kite flying.
