Come and colour the sky for a cause! KITE 2016 is just five days away.
The Aga Khan Academy is gearing up for an enthralling Pongal! In less than a week, on 14and 15 January, the sky above the Academy will form a backdrop for hundreds of kites, as thousands gather on the grounds to celebrate KITE 2016.
KITE 2016 is a new and unique festival in the region, supported by the Telangana Government Department of YAT&C (Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture) and the Department of Language and Culture. KITE 2016 is collaborating with multiple partners to make this a vibrant, inclusive, colourful and environmentally friendly event.
Highlights:
- Exclusive activity-based festival program for schools and children
- Regional arts and crafts mela
- Food stalls profiling local delicacies
- A continuous cultural experience of performing arts, dance and music provided by 200 artists over two days, representing the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana
- 34 professional kite flyers from 6 countries shall provide electrifying demonstrations
- 10 local kite club teams

KITE 2016 is a 2-day ticketed event, with FREE entry for children under 12. Festival passes are available online through MeraEvents. Tickets are also available for a special VIP festival dinner and night kite flying event.
