Learners enthralled by session on construction and design
On the 22nd of August students of grade 5 had the unique opportunity to learn about ‘Building Construction and Design Principles.’ Mr. Amit Kumar of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat held the session via video call, as part of the unit, ‘How the World Works.’
The young learners were captivated by the interaction, and discussed various factors involved in construction. Students learned about key design principles and the impact of design and construction. They were especially motivated to learn from someone who is involved in the process. Mr. Kumar is senior programme manager of planning and developing and works out of Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
It was a great experience for our PYP students to interact with a professional working in such a capacity. The Academy is strengthened by being a part of the Aga Khan Development Network and the school community looks forward to more collaborative efforts with our partner units.
