Meet Sanjana Amarnani : Our new PYP teacher
Sanjana joins the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad as a Primary Years Programme (PYP) teacher.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Sanjana joins us from Surat in Gujarat, where she has been working at the Fountainhead School for the past thirteen years. During her career she has been an Early Years teacher, Primary Years Homeroom teacher, Teacher Trainer, Assistant PYP Coordinator, PYP Coordinator and Junior School Principal. She has also been a part of the IBEN (International Baccalaureate Educator Network) as a workshop leader and member of the SVTM (School Visiting Team Member).
Sanjana was attracted to the vision of the Academies because she believes it resonates with her own values – especially the concept of education for life, focusing on skills that help you to prepare for constant change and a pluralistic approach.
As Homeroom teacher for Grade 5, she hopes to facilitate her students learning journey by enabling them to think, take risks, be independent when voicing opinions, and taking responsibility for their own learning.
In their final year of the Primary Years Programme, she hopes to develop her students into independent and responsible learners who will celebrate their journey through the Primary Years Programme Exhibition process and be very well prepared for the next stage of their learning journey!
