Meet Usha Shivakumar : Our new Mathematics teacher
Usha joins the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad as a Mathematics teacher.
Originally from Hyderabad, Usha joins the Academy from JCBN International in Mumbai. With a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from the Vellore Institute of Technology, followed by a Master’s of Science by research from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, she has six years of experience teaching Mathematics and Physics.
At the Academy, Usha hopes to explore the power of Mathematics from a more meaningful perspective. Her primary goal is developing student interest in mathematical thinking and logical interpretations. She sees this as a stepping stone in developing their interest in the subject as well as learning the real life applications of various aspects of Mathematics.
With Hyderabad being home for her, an opportunity to work at the Aga Khan Academy is one she did not want to miss. She believes being a part of a diverse community of both students and teachers will give her the chance to grow both as an educator and a teacher.
