PYP Student-Led Conference
The student-led conference is one of the ways of reporting student progress in the PYP. The Aga Khan Academy, Junior school conducted this annual event on May 9, 2014. The classrooms were filled with an air of excitement and pride as the students shared their journeys of inquiry and academic excellence with their parents. It was a formal occasion when the students took their parents for a gallery walk around their classroom. They also explained annotated work pieces from their portfolios.
This gave them an opportunity to showcase their communication and presentation skills as well as their participation in the process of learning through the year. The parents eventually gave feedback to the students based on their observations, which was mostly very positive.
It was also a day for teachers to take pride in their students as they were showered with gratitude and appreciation from parents for their hard work and commitment towards their child’s remarkable progress.
It was indeed a day for the students, teachers, parents and senior management of the school to CELEBRATE LEARNING!
