Scouting for exceptional students
Through strategic and long-term partnerships with aligned non-profit organizations such as Teach For India (TFI), Touching Lives and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad's talent identification team has successfully conducted national scouting activities in rural and remote parts of India to identify gifted students with leadership potential from underprivileged backgrounds.
Using TFI’s India-wide network of teaching fellows operating in seven major cities through a large number of government and private schools, referrals are provided to the Academy's admissions team who follow up with personal visits to conduct a series of dynamic evaluations. Over 200 students were evaluated for intellectual capacity, leadership potential and critical thinking skills, through frameworks designed with top international research universities to be language and culture independent.
Four exceptional students, three boys and one girl from Mumbai, Patna and Hyderabad, were selected. The Academy is providing them with full financial aid support, which allows them to access the high quality education we provide, and they are starting their journey with us this week. We welcome them and wish them all the best!
