Sixth Inter District Mountain Biking Championship
The Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad organised the 6th Inter District Mountain Biking Championship, Telangana in cooperation with the Telangana Cycling Association on 27-28 August 2022. What started with great enthusiasm and spirit from bikers of all ages from all over Telangana, has now become a coveted championship where the bikers exhibit their talent.
The championship was to provide an outlet for the bikers to race, to indulge in what nature has to offer and has brought together enthusiastic bikers for the upcoming National Mountain Biking Championship. Over the weekend, the Academy witnessed the bikers participate in eight different categories which included Elite Men, Elite Women, U-18 Boys, U-18 Girls, U-16 Boys, U-16 Girls, U-14 Boys and U-14 Girls.
On Saturday, the race format was time trials. The Academy’s Racing Team won the first, second and third positions of the Championship in different categories as outlined below:
- 1st and 2nd in the U-18 category,
- 1st, 2nd and third in U-16 Boys
- 1st and 2nd place in U-16 Girls
- 1st place in U-16 Girls
Sunday’s race format was the XCC race with the same categories. With about 120 participants in total, each participant managed to finish the race with exceptional persistence.
The Academy’s Racing Team again proved its brilliance by winning in over four categories. They bagged:
- 1st and 2nd place in U-18 Boys
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in U-16 Boys
- 1st place in U-16 Girls
- 2nd place in U-14 Boys
Kudos to all the bikers who participated in this hallmark event. Their efforts have made every moment of the championship a grand success. And it is our honour to be able to organise and host such a monumental event with the participation of so many young, talented sportsmen!
