Theatre circle performs at Ravindra Bharathi
The Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad Theatre Circle performed their play, Sleeping Cinderella Aur Ek Chor Ki Family, at the prestigious Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium on Saturday 18th May 2019, to a packed audience of 250 people. Students helped write, direct, design and construct the multilingual play, that is an original creation by drama faculty Chandrashekar Indla.
Representing the diversity on campus, Sleeping Cinderella had dialogues in 10 different languages. Over 70 students participated in the performance. “I am very proud of our cast and crew members,” said Chandrasekhar Indla. “They worked very hard and showed great dedication.”
There were several notable Telugu authors, playwrights and directors in attendance. Patibandla Ananda Rao, a stalwart of Telugu theatre, spoke about the importance of the art form, how it builds character, and said that he enjoys the fact that students are putting on plays of this calibre.
