Third Senior School Concert – Hagbane’s Doom
In every story, good wins over evil and defeats it, but what if good power itself turns into evil? To mark the end of the academic year 2013 – 2014, the Senior School choir held a mini musical concert on Hagbane’s Doom.
After performing two successful back-to-back concerts (Scheherazade and The Phantom of the Opera), they performed yet another concert on the theme of Good versus Evil.
On Friday, 13 June 2014, the Senior School choir gave their final performance of the year. The look of the library changed as it was transformed into a mini performance area. The choir brought life to the generally quiet area and looked busy and colorful.
The event started with the theme song from Scheherazade and The Phantom of the Opera to mark the journey of the year 2013-14. There were solo performances from PYP and MYP students who played the violin, guitar and the piano. It was very exhilarating to see the young children perform.
After the solo performances had received a hearty applause from the audience, the main show began. Hagbane, the evil witch, takes away the Merestone, and then comes prince Oswain to save the forest from getting destroyed.
The audience enjoyed the musical. Students from grades 7 to 9 gave a wonderful performance. Everybody sang beautifully to make this concert a hit. Mr. Nigel, the music teacher, organised everything very successfully and with him on the piano the music was brought to life.
