Winners of Art from Heart
Students empowered with creativity and skills can achieve their goals, contended Mr Raymond Zinsli, Senior School Principal of the Aga Khan Academy, at the grand finale of the Art from Heart competition.
The competition was organised by the Academy to recognise the artistic achievements of students in the wider Hyderabad community. Following the initial rounds of competition, which saw 500 students participate, 140 students were shortlisted for the final round that was held on 24 August on the Academy campus. The finalists came from areas across the city including Banjara Hills, Vanasthalipuram, Bowenpally, Abids, Himayatnagar, Gandipet and Sindhi colony.
It was a great go for the gold! Following a full morning of intense work and competition, the winners were announced. Rea Agarwal from Global Art in Banjara Hills won the competition in the 6-9 year-old age group, Anushka Shah won in the 9-12 year-old category, and Sai Sahiti from Samita Academy was the winner in the 12-16 year-old group. Each participant received a trophy, a memento and a certificate to acknowledge their achievement.
Competitions like Art from Heart help encourage students to develop their artistic and creative skills. As Mr Raymond noted, students need to be trained in activities like drawing, music, sports and dance along with their studies. These skills make students active and enthusiastic learners.
