World Book Day at the Junior School
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
In honor of World Book Day in March, the Junior School celebrated Book Week from 3rd to 7th March 2014. The highlight of the week was the book character dress-up parade on Friday, when students and teachers came dressed-up as book characters. There was much excitement and an air of pageantry in the school.
The characters ranged from well-known traditional book characters such as Goldilocks, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan, Cat in the Hat, Pippi Longstocking, Aladdin as well as contemporary ones like Harry Potter, Dumbledore, Hermione, Chrysanthemum and Matilda. Fairies, queens, princes and princesses traipsed with an Indian, a Masai, pirates, witches, a few hungry caterpillars and other animals.
