Grade One Visits Maputo Airport

Grade 1 had an exciting visit to Maputo international airport to help consolidate their learning for the unit ‘Journeys’. The children visited the airport and after check-in using their ‘passports’ they visited security and passed their lunch boxes through the xray scanner. They watched the baggage coming from the plane and looked for different destinations on the information boards.
After inquiring into where people travel they then went onto a real plane to find out what it feels like to be inside a plane.
They learnt about safety procedures and got to sit inside the cockpit and hold the controls!
