K3 create shops

Kindergarten 3 have been looking at money in maths. They investigated different currencies around the world and how we use money.

They then came up with their own currency for their class. They made money and created shops. As we are inquiring into the processes of food, the shops had to be food shops. The students decided what type of shops they would like and made paper food to sell. When they had named their shop and had their items ready to sell, they got to work.

The class sounded like a real market, with all the hustle and bustle of buying and selling. We will continue to have our class shop throughout the unit and we will investigate where the food the students have created comes from and process it goes through to get to the shop shelf.
