Meet Minhaz Nayani
Minhaz Nayani was born in Pakistan and is the new Head of Finance and Administration at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo. Prior to joining the Academy, Minhaz was the Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Grants and Review Board in Pakistan for nine years.
Through his position, Minhaz hopes to ensure AKA Maputo students are always provided with the best facilities possible as all the Academy’s aims and objectives are carefully designed around student support and development, not only through academics but also through sports, culture and community life.
“With the additional state-of-the-art facilities on-board, and them being pivotal to students’ success and well-being, their development will be front and centre of our plans this year and next year,” Minhaz said. “A stunning campus is the linchpin of our student support and development strategy and, therefore, we are poised to seize every single opportunity to make our Academy more conducive, eco-friendly and inspiring by making student-focused investments.”
Minhaz said his favourite part about the Academy is the role that it plays in the overall Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). “Being part of the AKDN, the Academy strives to deliver the lofty social objectives of excellence in education to develop leaders despite stiff headwinds of difficult socio-economic circumstances,” Minhaz said. “Not only is it to witness how the Academy withstands such challenges for the noble cause of education, but it is also a lesson of commitment and dedication for all of us to learn from.”
