Meet Terencio Alberto Tovele
From Mozambique and with over seven years of experience as a pedagogic director and teacher, Terencio Alberto Tovele is the Aga Khan Academy Maputo’s Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme music teacher.
Because Terencio is new to the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, he intends to solidify the various skills and abilities that he has developed during his first year at the AKA Maputo.
“I strive to develop learning opportunities through music that allow the students to build principles such as ‘knowing how to be and how to do’, as well as the ‘celebration of cultural diversity and plurality’,” he said. “Through practical music experiences, I also intend on developing the students’ skills and abilities to express themselves confidently and to interpret the world around them.”
Terencio said his favourite part about the AKA Maputo is the collaboration and willingness to assist one another amongst colleagues, as well as the plurality in learning that the Academy echoes throughout all its teaching practices.
