A Visit from Maria Helena Pinto

Grade five recently got a visit from a ballerina called Maria Helena Pinto. She is 43 years old and she has a son. Maria came to talk about her life in dance and how we use the imagination to perform on stage. She was recently on tour in the United States in a play called ‘Sombra’ which tries to convey how in some societies women are not treated well. The dance represented a woman in the shadows, who we do not get to see. For this dance, she wore very dark clothes and danced with a bucket covering her head so that she could not see anything, or have her face be seen.
 
We learned about how we act our feelings and how we express our inner thoughts. For example, if we act a feeling we have to discuss what we did. Afterwards, we continued to act different types of feelings. We also talked about how Maria became so inspired dancing and how she continues to follow her dreams.

Na segunda- feira, o quinto ano recebeu uma vista de uma bailarina chamada Maria Helena Pinto.Ela veio falar sobre a sua vida na dança e como ela usa a imaginação para actuar em palco . Maria Helena Pinto fez uma digressão pelo os Estados Unidos com uma peça chamada Mulher Sombra, quis transmitir que em algumas sociedades as mulheres não são bem tratadas. A dançarina representou uma mulher na sombre, onde nós não a conseguimos ver,para sua dança usou roupas muito escuras e dançou com um balde na cabeça sem ver nada.

Dissemos alguns exemplos de sentimentos e como nós os imaginamos, expressamos o sentimento através do corpo. Fiquei a saber muitas coisas que não sabia, adorei esta visita, foi muito educativa e muito informativa.
