The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa raises the bar once more with best IB results to date

Following in the footsteps of previous cohorts, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Class of 2020 received record-breaking results in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) this year. In addition to the Academy once again scoring highly, the percentage of top scorers was also above the global average – with nine students scoring an outstanding 40 points and above.

Meet Emma Wheatley - our new PYP Coordinator

Our new PYP Coordinator, Emma Wheatley joined the Academy remotely from the UK before the start of the new academic year and is excited to assimilate with the Academy's community and culture. She looks forward to moving to Maputo with her family.

Students recreate Hyderabad Bazaars in classrooms

Students of grade 3 recreated the bazaars of Hyderabad in the Academy Junior School last week. Junior School parents, teachers and students of all the grades across the school were invited to witness the gala affair.

First inter-school Theory of Knowledge conference 2019

Inter-school ToK Conference 2019

The Academy hosted its first inter-school Theory of Knowledge (ToK) conference on Friday, October 25th in the AB basement. The theme of the conference was 'the motif of power'. Two schools, Indus International School and Johnson Grammar School from Hyderabad had also participated in the conference.

English Peace Project

Students of grade 8 were engaged in an integrated activity of English and Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) in the form of a 'Peace Project' on Wednesday, 30th October 2019. The event was attended by Academy teachers and young minds of grade 5.

Oliver Baya Wanje, a teacher from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has been awarded a scholarship by the International Baccalaureate to complete an M.Ed with the University of the People.

Flash Mob for Climate Change

Flash Mob

Around 40 students from the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad organised a flash mob on Tuesday, 2nd October 2019 at Sarath City Capital Mall at Kondapur, Hyderabad. The flash mob aimed to raise awareness about the current climate change situation.
