Academy hosts carnival for students during Easter break

The residential community at AKA Mombasa had an exciting carnival which was organised by the Student Representative Council and the Tuck Shop team on 4 April 2021. The carnival was planned for students to engage and have fun during the Easter break.

AKA Mombasa alumna and musician Xenia Manasseh is featured in the '254's women tastemakers' section of the Standard newspaper, which celebrates women pushing boundaries in the creative arts.

AKDN features Khushi Bajaria, a first year student in the Diploma Programme at AKA Mombasa, who was awarded a grant by the IB for her eco-friendly microscope.

DP art exhibition 2021

Second year Diploma Programme (DP) art students at AKA Mombasa held an art exhibition from 15 to 19 March 2021 to showcase their artwork collection that they have been working on during their two years in the DP. Held at Tamu balcony, the exhibition was open to other students, staff, and parents who were invited to celebrate the students’ achievements.

Year 6s reflect on their first-ever science experiment as Senior School students

Following the resumption of in-person learning at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, Year 6 students carried out their first-ever science investigation as new members of Senior School. They performed a redox reaction experiment under the supervision of science teacher, Mr. Erick Agira, where they tested the effect of Hydrochloric acid on Magnesium metal. The Year 6 students tell us more about their experience.

Luciano Torriani designs an inexpensive electricty and water purification system

Luciano Torriani, a Year 10 student at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has created an inexpensive electricity supply and water purification system. His invention is titled Rural Electrical and Purification Systems (REPS), and is his personal project for the culmination of the Middle Years Programme.
